About the NRPC

The NRPC was established in January 2006 with the aim of providing scientifically accurate information on the prevention and treatment of nappy rash. It is an independent group of healthcare professionals, including midwives, nurses, paediatric dermatologists, a neonatologist and a general practitioner. Click here for more information about the NRPC members.

The NRPC has developed guidelines for the management of nappy rash in Australia and New Zealand. These guidelines address nappy-changing practices and the appropriate use of topical agents in infants and young children. An algorithm has been developed to guide healthcare professionals in their management of nappy rash. The NRPC also offers practical advice for parents and carers on ways to prevent and manage mild nappy rash at home.
